For as long as I can remember, I’ve been interested in all things self-improvement.
I want to know WHY I do the things I do. I want to know what makes me tick. Because once I get a better understanding of my basic disposition and the root causes of my behavior, I’ll be better equipped to change a bad habit or pattern of behavior or thought.
I’ll be able to make significant, lasting—permanent—change. And I’ll be able to accomplish MORE and feel better about myself.
But something happened along my journey…
I discovered that I wasn’t just looking for information that would help me to enjoy a better life or gain a better understanding of myself.
I was searching for something that would put me over the top. To put it another way, I was searching for the “secret of success” in terms of:
How to Set a BIG Goal and Achieve It
I wanted to know if there was a Master Key that, if I really understood and applied it, it would all but guarantee my success.
And because that is what I was looking for…that is exactly what I found.
There is a key, a secret, if you will.
There is something that—if you really understand it—it will completely alter your outlook, change your whole approach to life. If you’re ready for it and you put it into practice,
your life will never be the same again!
But the question is: Are you ready?
Well…ready or not, here it is:
I. You must establish a PURPOSE—a Definite Major Purpose.
II. You must be willing to stake your entire existence on achieving it.
III. You must create a burning desire for it—and continue to increase and intensify your desire over time.
IV. You must create a single-minded determination and perseverance to achieve it—no matter what stands in your way.
There it is.
All you need is a purpose, a plan, and a burning desire to achieve it.
It works every time. Why? Because it’s one of the great laws of the universe. And here’s why it works:
We become what we think about.
The Bible says, “As a man thinks, so is he.” – Proverbs 23:7
James Allen put it this way:
“A particular train of thought persisted in cannot fail to produce its results on character and circumstance.”
Our dominating thoughts and the images we project in our mind will eventually produce results—good or bad—in our outward, physical reality.
And it makes perfect sense. If we’re thinking about our purpose every opportunity we get during the day, then we will do all that we need to do, use all of the resources at our disposal, and find a way to make it happen.
Benjamin Disraeli wrote: “Nurture great thoughts, for you will never go any higher than your thoughts.”
Sooo…we must control our thoughts if we’re ever going to control our lives.
